Handicaps
Handicaps may be gained either by submitting a current (less than 6 months old) handicap certificate from an EGU affiliated Club, or by putting in three cards marked and signed by another member with a current handicap. Handicaps are maintained using the Club2000 software, which automatically adjusts handicaps after every qualifying competition. In addition, the handicap committee will periodically review handicaps, taking into account all performances, and makes general play adjustments as necessary. A major review of all handicaps will be carried out at the end of each season. It is the player's responsibility to check the handicap list before each competition and to ensure that he applies the correct handicap. If a player uses a higher handicap than he is entitled to, he will be disqualified. Using a lower handicap will not cause disqualification, but will result in the player getting less shots than he is entitled to. Any member who feels that their handicap is incorrect may request a review by the handicap Committee. Such requests must be submitted, in writing to the Chairman of the Competitions and Handicaps committee. Away HandicapPlayers who are members of more than one Club must nominate of the clubs to be their home club for the purposes of handicapping. All the other clubs will treat the player as an away member. In order that handicaps are properly maintained, away players must inform the handicap secretary of their home club every time they play in a handicap qualifying competition at another club. The handicap secretary will require to know gross score, competition standard scratch, and any handicap adjustments resulting from the competition. Players must also inform the handicap secretary of the away clubs whenever their home club changes their player's handicap. Failure to follow these procedures may render the player's handicap invalid, and bar him from entering competitions. Away members for PEOVER GOLF CLUB are indicated on the master handicap list.
