Local Rules
Penalty for breach of any rule.
Match play - Loss of hole
Stroke play - Two strokes
1. Etiquette (courtesy of the course)
Must be observed at all times. undue Delay Slow PLay (Rules 6-7). In the interest of all, no golfer should play until those in front are out of range. Golfers who are delayed or Slow at playing for any reason must allow the following match through. For the well being of the members and the club generally. Player's attention is drawn to section 1 and 2 of the rules of golf.
2. Important Points
Repair pitch marks, Replace divots, Rake Bunkers, Protect Trees, Avoid Litter. All golfers must adhere to the Local RUles and any instructions on notices posted around the course
3. Movable Obstructions
(Rule 24-1) Stones in bunkers may be removed without penalty.
4. Immovable Obstructions
(Rule 24-1) Roads, Pathways, Safety Netting, GOlf Signs and Marker's Relief can be taken without penalty. If a ball strikes overhead wires, electricity posts or stay, the ball must be played again from the original spot without penalty.
Trees & Shrubs. If a staked tree, or one marked with a white band, interferes with a players intended stance or the area of their intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped within one club length of the nearest point of relief and no nearer the hole
5. Ground under repair
(Rule 25-1) Areas marked by white lines including temporary greens or areas marked with G.U.R. Notices. Relief must be taken without penalty.
6. Hazards
(Rule 26-1) A water hazard defined by yellow stakes., A lateral water hazard defined by red stakes. Blue posts : Nearest point of relief.
7. Out of Bounds
(Rule 27-1)
a) Beyond the hedges, fences and the river bordering the course.
b) Beyond any areas marked with white posts Holes No's 5, 8, 27 and 18. Alongside the practice area
c) The O.O.B on the right of the fifth fairway, does not apply when playing the 6th hole.
d) Crops ).).B. on the right of 6, 13 & 14 fairways.

9. Public footpaths
Priority must be given to walkers when playing hole no's 9 & 10 and on the practice area (observe relevant notices).
10. Practice area:
Only practice away from motorway.
11. Safety
Safety for all golfers and green staff working on the course is of paramount importance.
12. Insurance
All golfers are strongly advised to have public liability cover.
13. Golf Rules
All golfers must adhere to the Rules of Golf as laid down by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.
